Scrapping Sunday

My TA-DA for this Sunday is another layout for my daughter's baby album.

We don't have many pictures of her just being born, but I am thankful for the ones I DO have... next time I'll just be sure to get my bum up out of that bed and take some for myself! :)!!!

I did save my favorite Close to My Heart paper for this layout! It's called More to Adore and I ADORE it!!!! :) I love the paisleys!

I also had a lot of fun with my chipboard and grungeboard letters using Glimmer Mist to color them, it was so fast and easy, I loved it.

I used to leave all my buttons with the holes showing, but obviously that is changing :) My friend ties something in all of hers, I think she is rubbing off on me :).

Ohhh! Another embellishment I love is Close to My Heart photo corners. I used one to anchor the ribbon for the word 'just' in my title and I used one standing alone here.

I even made myself use an old vellum quote! These things can sit around forever if I don't pay attention to them... this one says:

"You're a teeny tiny angel, sent to us on Earth. A special gift from Heaven from the moment of your birth" :).

Now onto my running TO-DO list...
  1. Pick a date for a Close to My Heart party?
  2. Hang ledge for black and white photos in my room.
  3. Hang my new Ikea lighthouse photo :)
If you want to join the others and share your craft related Ta-Da's and To-Do's visit the Sunday Scrappin' home.

Picture a Day

May 28: This is my oldest daughter and one of our yuuts! She babysat our kiddos to earn some extra money for her Prom :)!!!!

May 27: Wednesday my kids did a BIG no-no!!!! And you can bet I will blog the WHOLE thing once I am done "back-posting" :)!

May 26: Tuesday is weight-in day and I am still LOVIN SparkPeople.com, they have trackers that help you with things like measurements and water intake and they even graph your progress!

May 25: Monday for Memorial Day we went over to my Pastor's home for a barbecue, it was fun. JJ swam, B.boy threw things in the pool, I jumped on the trampoline and found out I can still do a cartwheel! :)

May 24: My son got a new car :) I wish I had one like that!

May 23: Saturday night my hubby and I went to see our third movie in like a month! The first two were Star Trek and Wolverine, this time it was Terminator Salvation.

(Since we live with family we have been going out after the kids are in bed for the night :)

May 22: Friday's are our Youth Bible Study nights and we had a special ice cream sundae movie night this week :)!!

(Yes the same week I started Weight Watchers, but I saved points for two Skinny Cows, a banana, 1.5 cups of strawberries and 0 point whip cream!!! :)

Brand New be'be' :)

I am still working on my youngest daughter's baby album (up to one year old). I only have about 18 layouts to go though :) Considering how slow I am, that is only be 8+ more months of work :).

The two photos on the top here were the day after she was born and that big one was a professional photo we had taken when she was five days old :). Such a lovable little bundle! I can't believe she is already a year old!!!!

I think I have had these die-cut butterflies around longer than I have had her... they were waiting for the perfect page layout and here they go...

I even used some old Valentine's stickers that I won from the Making Memories blog a long old time ago!

And of coarse I couldn't scrap without using my friend's stuff again... I used her ribbon, her scallop punches, her inks and her sponge dauber :) Thanks AGAIN Jenn! :)

I had fun with my felt flowers and threaded buttons!

And could not get away without using some more Liquid Glass! I just love that stuff!

A card from Scraps...

I have had it on my heart to make more cards to send to my loved ones and I figured out a way in challenging myself to do so.

Every time I make a layout I will attempt to use the scrap paper (however much there is), since it should already match... and I will make a card out of it! In the same sitting!!!

This is the card I made from the last layout I shared with you all.

These scraps worked out very well because of all the double-sided patterned paper.

I even made myself use some of the rub-ons that I did in the previous layout.

And the flowers too! ... this is on the inside of the card :)

Now if I can just get this habit down, I will have plenty of cards on hand for many occasions.

My Walk...

My Walk Monday
This is me catching up on blogging... so this is from my memory of what I might have written this particular Monday. I do specifically remember my husband asking me why I hadn't written it yet, and I remember telling him I would have nothing to write since I hadn't really been in the word or in communion with the Lord.

But even though I am not feeling close to Him, He is ALWAYS faithful to put a song in my heart...

I know Lord that I ask for You to draw me close and I know that You will NEVER let me go, but when it comes to me laying things down that get it the way I REALLY STINK!!!! I will do it over and over again for You God, but I don't want to HAVE to do it again, I want to BE DONE WITH IT!

I know You are the best friend I will EVER have, but I don't call on You enough and I am ashamed of myself in Your presence! I want to desire You and Your Word MORE than ANYTHING else in life! NOTHING and NO ONE else does it for me Lord but You. I try to put things in Your place still and I DON'T WANT TO.

YOU'RE ALL I WANT! YOU'RE ALL I NEED!! Help me stay close to You this time Jesus! Empower me, humble me, stretch me, and form me into something worthy of Your name!

Happiness is...

My TA-DA for Scrappin' Sunday :) Of coarse this is "back-posted" so I could catch up. This is a layout I made last week for a post that happened two weeks ago :)

This is also the layout I used as a Make-n-Take at my old church crop on Saturday. It was made with a lot of the items they received in their goodie bags... paper, rub-ons, clear shapes, embroidery floss and liquid glass from Close to My Heart (I'm a consultant), flowers, paint, brads, ribbon, and lettering from my stash :)

Oh and the layout is a sketch from the Close to My Heart Imagine book.

Here's a close-up on the title block, above this is says "happiness is"...

I love hand-sewing on my layouts, and I loved this "peek-a-boo" to the other side of my double-sided paper also :).

Edge-distressing and layering flowers are more of my favorites... if you can't tell :).

Now onto my TO-DO list...
  1. Scrapbook just once - sometime this week.
  2. Pick a date for a Close to My Heart party?
  3. Hang ledge for black and white photos in my room.
  4. Hang my new Ikea lighthouse photo :)

Picture a Day

May 21: I joined SparkPeople.com to meet people with the same interests BEFORE I need help with motivation... and I am LOVING it so far!

May 20: The hungry monster! Cute but deceiving! :) I was reading old WW magazines my in-laws had :).

May 19: If you can't beat it - join them! :) my M.I.L. and S.I.L. have been on and off Weight Watchers for years now and since I live with both of them again and want to lose weight myself... they are teaching me how :)!!!

May 18: Praise the Lord for getting out of the house!!! We went to a water park! :)

May 17: I went with my S.I.L. to get her hair cut - isn't she cute?

May 16: My son stole my camera and took these two photos without me even knowing about it... of coarse I eventually knew, LOL!!! - caught red-handed!

May 15: I went to take my placement tests to go back to school! Finally - now I need to actually enroll in the classes!!! (Note to self - delayed obedience is the same as disobedience.)

Acrylic Display Album

This was a "mini-album" I taught one of my youth girlies how to make for her parents as a gift.

I got the acrylic stand from Ikea... it was just one of those that comes with plastic sleeves to insert your 4x6 photos... but instead of inserting photos we just covered those sleeves with paper and scrapped on them :)! (I stole the idea from my amazing sister!)

The other great thing about the sleeves being covered is you could still hide papers in the middle (where you were originally supposed to put your 4x6) to journal on... which we didn't do this time.

Yes in an "album" like this one your photos are not covered or protected, but it makes embellishing so much fun... you just know people are going to want to touch :)....

Take a look...
This is what the pages look like when you flip one up to "open" the album...
Oh and the paper used here was all Close to My Heart! I just LOVE their coordinating packs... it take the guess-work out of having solid colors to match your prints.

It was so much fun to plan the different size photos for these "layouts". One of my favorites was the tall photo of the kids all in the tree :). It's not often I get to use photos that covers the entire length of a 12x12 layout, actually THIS LAYOUT was my first!
Again, here are some more Prima crystals! They are so quick and easy to embellish with!
MMM, and this was my favorite papered paper out of the entire pack! SOOO cute. They even have an acrylic stamp set that matches :).
Love the buttons at the centers.

Of coarse it DOES help that this whole album was full of some one else's adorable kids!!!... that's always fun to work with!!!
