Late Scrappin' Sunday

For Scrappin' Sunday we share our "ta-da's" and our "to-do's" to keep us motivated each week. I don't always participate, but it does keep me very well organized and prepared, you should join me.

My TA-DA for this week is one of the Valentine Gifts I have been working on, but I also wanted to share photos of my new scrap space since I moved! :)

It's in my bedroom now and I am loving it! Since it's always in my face it makes me want to get more done. Previously it was in my garage and I only got to the table once or twice in an entire year.

This is the bedside view...

And at the foot of the bed is this!...

Since we moved to a place that doesn't have as much storage space I decided to let go of my shelving unit and share my desk with my hubby for his computer. It's working out very well so far.

This is my side of the desk...

With my drawers, my totes and my MacBook Pro (bottom-left). My scrap-paper tub, train-case, albums, paper and memories (below). My altered Clipboard, my cardstock bin, my baskets of cards, tools, embellishments, supplies and photos (middle). And my shelving (up above)...

This is my husbands side of the desk...
(Yes hunny - sorry you only get a third not half.) That's his computer crammed on there and that giant bookcase is mostly his as well... other than all the pictures in frames :).

And this is my what I really meant to share...
One of the Valentine Gift's I am making. It's a little circle tin with tea-lite candles in it.

I used Close to My Heart paper and one of their stamp sets. I also used their liquid glass glue and some glitter for the shinnies :).

I was proud of my little double-bow :) Part sheer - part gross-grain.

And my tea-lites fit perfect because I used some that were bigger than others and I put a small glass holder in the middle... they smelled good too :)...

Now onto my running TO-DO list...
This is the last one I had on here from back in June - I will add to it...
  1. Pick a date for a Close to My Heart party??? This party was suposed to be planned 7 months ago.
  2. Hang ledge for black and white photos in my room. Funny I did this again since moving.
  3. Hang my new Ikea lighthouse photo. And this too :)
I got all my old ones done (even twice over) and didn't even know it :) That makes me happy!
  1. Finish altering Starbucks frappuccino Box.
  2. Alter cardboard heart box.
  3. Alter Hershey's miniatures.
  4. Make Valentine cards with my new stamp sets.
  5. Alter matchbook notebooks.
  6. Alter journal.
  7. Count RSVPs and...
  8. ...plan Close to My Heart order out for Workshop on the 6th!
  9. Pack for Open House Boutique this Saturday!!!
Wow I have a lot to do, but it's nice to see it all laid out! Pray for me...

Picture a Day

April 10: Yes - we are missing two fishies... I hope my little one didn't eat them!

April 11: This is my daughter's "Mommy and Daddy" in their "car"...
... if you look closely the "daddy" is Prince Charming and he has a receding hairline :)

April 12: It was a beautiful day to celebrate my Lord's Resurrection!!!!

April 13: My two older kids did my hair - lol - I think my daughter got this idea because we had a little scare from the mother-daughter sleepover we went to... we had to check our hair for eggs... LOL! Praise the Lord we were all clear!

April 14: This is the kiddos playing with their new and giant bubble bucket! :)

April 15: This is what I did last night... I decided to surprise my sister-in-law (who I live with) by putting her scrapbook shelves together right next to mine while she was away at work :).

April 16: And this is the mailbox-man I have been wanting to take a picture of... today I finally did... isn't he cool!?

A Great Weekend!

On Friday night I took my daughter out to dinner, we went shopping for new jammies, then we went to a mother-daughter sleepover at my old church.
I took pictures :)...

We made bracelets...

She got her hair done... something mommy hasn't learned yet :)...

We snacked...

I tickled :)...

We "sardined" in the sanctuary :)....

... under the pews :)...
(Those two photos taken in the dark - I couldn't see a thing!)

We hung out with friends...

We tried to sleep :)...

We ate breakfast - I know, no food in the picture, you have to look at the frosting on her face :)...

And we had a GREAT time bonding!!! :)!!!!!.....

Also on Saturday I went to visit my sister, my little brother and to see my two neice's piano recital - they did a great job... and while I was there my youngest daughter's diaper leaked all over my pant-leg! :)

My brother is doing a little better emotionally, but still needs prayer for many other issues.

My sister took photos of her daughter and mine that are only like 7 months apart, she is doing so well with this new photography thing.
Here is her daughter (she was going for cheesy - do you think she hit it? :)...

When I got home from my sister's house my husband had an awesome surprise for me!!! He carpeted my scrap area in the garage! Totally awesome! Thank you hunny!!!! I'm so excited!

On Sunday was our church's Communion Day and Agape Feast. So me and my hubby had the pleasure of sitting in service together to listen to the pastor teach instead of being in with the youth group. We also had a great time fellow-shipping and eating afterwards.

When we got home I re-organized my scrap stuff from the move to get the carpet down, then I took a much needed nap. I woke up feeling sick and then I watched movies :). I watched Tinkerbell for the first time and totally thought it was blasphemous! (The part that made me the most upset is the short that comes on after the movie called 'Ever Wonder'. Part of it is on the site I just linked if you go to the right and scroll down with the leaf.)
I also watched Heros online with Joshie to get caught up to watch it Monday on TV... then we watched Eagle Eye together and went to bed.

This was one of the best weekends I've had in a while :).

Progress!!!!

TA-DA!!!
This is my biggest accomplishment from last week's to-do list! We got my shelves hung in the garage and I organized all my scrap stuff! I unpacked like 7 boxes! I'm so happy, it feels like a bit of home again since we've moved!

So now when you walk into the garage from the house you see our bookshelf (which is often one of my biggest tackles), my Ikea scrapping shelves and my nicely put together desk! YAAAY!!!

Yes - that is the head of a bed-frame behind my desk :) I decided when we moved that I wanted to put our mattress on the floor and make the foot of the bed into the head... after I spray paint it and antique of coarse (which hasn't happened yet :).

During the move my poor plexiglas cracked down the side :( Still good though, and a good reminder that although I am severely cracked as a person I can still be used for the Lord who puts me together again, cleans me off and sends me to do His work :)

The crack there has almost become another one of my favorite things about my scrap space because of that encouragement from the Lord. Not only do l I love that my hubby made me that table, but I also like the things I put on it that bring me joy!

Like one of my favorite old photos of my hubby and I before kiddos, or the Thomas Kinkade greeting card that I framed :)... or the butterfly my sweet friend gave me at last year's National Scrapbook Day crop!

I also love this photo box Joshie gave me, it plays 'Wind Beneath my Wings' when you open it :)! I also LOVE the cup right next to it with the clouds, boat and waves - Joshie made that for me when he was an elementary school teacher... he was doing a craft with the kids and he made me one, it says I love you on the back :).

Carnations may not be my favorite flower, and I would much rather have the real thing over fake ones like these, but these are special to me because they are from my first daughter's baby shower 5 years ago! :) I can't believe I still have them - I just cannot get myself to throw them out!

Now the things I find funny...
The fact that I seem to like bookshelves for more places for picture frames than books :)!

... and that fact that I have WAY too much cardstock! ... this is all unopened! :) I have a whole other box with all the accessible pieces! I'm sure I will get to these eventually!

Okay - that wasn't a tangent at all!

Now on to my TO-DO's...
  1. Finalize car-pool, babysitting, and leaving time for my weekend crop in May.
  2. Plan layouts for my daughter's age 3 pages.
  3. Plan more layouts for my other daughter's baby album.
  4. Continue organizing to pack.
  5. Trim and organize all printed photos - ready for scrapping.
  6. Pick an outfit for Baby to wear for pictures with Auntie Charleen on Saturday!

Scrappin' Sunday

Hey ladies joining me from the Sunday Scrappin' Hub, nice to see you here.

Well my TA-DAs, hum? I got some of my to-do's done from last week...
  • I cleaned up my scrap space AGAIN (pics above)... I feel like I just did this!
  • I entered one of my orders for National Scrapbook Day (which I am totally excited about because from the product I ordered they decided to match that amount in promotional products for giveaways!)
  • I also downloaded some new fonts from Allie Hoopes to play with...
  • and a made a rolling "email me button" with my families pics for my blog (featuring a couple of those fonts).
  • Do you think a custom button like that would be a good giveaway for the upcoming party?

My TO-DO for this week will be... to put together my Rusty Pickle tutorial for the Scrapbooking Blog Party. I think that'll be it since I have B.Boy's birthday party coming up next weekend.

Now for this week's Bonus Question: What kind of projects do you do the most often?
Lately I have had a lot of altered projects, if you check my Scrappin' Sunday page you will see that.

And Here's a Bonus Question I missed from week 4: Share a favorite tip or technique that you've learned recently... Well I shared a tutorial for my most favorite technique last week... distressing. Check it out and enjoy.

Happy Scrapping!

Thursday's Thing

Part of this week's Tackle on Tuesday was giving my 12x12 cardstock a new home :o) I've been searching forever for a good size bin (not box) for all of my open cardstock. (Yes, I have more than this.) This cardboard box has been driving me crazy!... actually I think it's my third box because the others have fallen apart.

Well, I finally found a good bin! Of coarse it's from Ikea again!... Look!!! :o)

Late Night Tackle

Yes last night I waited till the kids were asleep to get my tackle done. And yes it is the office again... there is a project I have to do (notice the box of paint cans), but cannot work in there with it a mess like that! I needed help from my hubby because some of it was his, so he came home blessed me by making dinner and bathing the kids, then we attacked two bags and a box of stuff! After that I cleaned up the rest of the office and built a new little table and chairs for my kiddos. Now I am ready for more (of a different kind of) tackling! And if your wondering, the rest of my day was spent tackling disobedience, lots of toys and over 100 emails!

Room Swap... Take Two...

I told you that you would see me this week with a better outcome... well I still have some work to do, but here is some of what I have already finished since last week...I hung all my shelving (by myself) and put everything in it's place :o) (If you want more about my shelving read my August 2nd post, or my ribbon jars read my April 19th post.)
Also I cleaned off all the tabletops in my front room of all the extra stuff... plus I dusted the whole room (that made me happy because I have been wanting to do that for a while now). Then I did most of the dishes, cleaned the kitchen, and did some laundry... it was a good day getting all this done (with my three little ones not driving me crazy).
*Update on my wee little one (1st picture)... she slept 4 1/2 hours the past two nights!!!! Very cool! See's growing like a weed, and with her face getting a little more chubby she is starting to look like her older sissy (2nd picture).

Tackling a Room Swap!

Here's a little update on what we've gotten done here at home... We purchased the desk and some other goodies on a "date" Thursday night, we put it together that night and moved the computer over, including my husband's new monitor that he got as a late Christmas gift (it also came on Thursday).
It was a lot of work to clean out the whole office. I have no pics of the craziness during the move, but I did take some pics today of the mess that is still left :o) When we moved the bookcase (the same one I tackled back in April) we had to take all the books off... and some of them are still not on, not to mention I still have to reorganize the shelves, and hang my scrappy shelves above my desk. I did manage to get my closet shelving up though, and my desk mostly organized. I'm sure you'll see me back next Tuesday with a better outcome :o) Happy TT.
