Much Needed...

...I always say a good laugh makes me feel better when I am down, hopefully this will be a good "pick me up" for you as well. (And no, it's not my baby :o)

Also know that I will be posting the Scrap Recipe for Altered Paint Cans sometime tomorrow.

Enjoy :o)

Some Promised Layouts

The first layout is one I taught at National Scrapbook Day in May. The ladies loved it, but not all of them wanted to actually sew with the sewing machine like I did. I loved the rub-on for the title, and the Basic Grey paper! I also had fun with the U and R from my Cricut Machine.
This one I had a hard time with, because the second page was almost too perfect, like to symmetrical... I decided to get over it... anywho, I still LOVE the photos!
This is the first layout of my daughter's second year. I showed you these pics in a slide show on July the 2nd, when I shared my crazy scrapbooking plan with you all. I got to use my new chipboard from Heidi Swapp, my new flowers from Bazzill, and my new acrylic stamps from Stampendous on this one, too fun!
This is the second layout of my daughter's 2nd year (part of the plan). I made the big beach picture open up to make more space for smaller photos and journaling, which is what the second picture in this sequence shows.
The picture of my daughter at the top of the JJ - our Joy layout, and the picture at the bottom of the My Girl layout with the red background shows one year's difference in her life! It really does go by like a vapor, I only pray I will raise her right, and that she will grow in her love for our Lord.

Look what I'm Tackling

I must admit this is a fun tackle, but I am also a procrastinator, so that makes it just a little bit stressful, but I am also starting to think I work (artistically) pretty well under pressure.
I am making 16 of these little suckers by Friday...

Of coarse if you are a fan of my Scrapbooking Tutorials you should check back sometime soon because I am going to make a recipe for altered paint cans as well. They are so fun to make, you won't want to miss it!

Giveaway Winner

This is from the giveaway I announced back in July, I thought the longer I left it up the more people would sign-up to win, but now I think I was wrong.

So there were 10 ladies signed up and Miss Laura at My Qoutidian Mysteries won the $30 gift certificate for Joyous Creations!

Congratulations Laura!

Thank you again Prima, you are too sweet! How did you know I love orange and brown and chipboard! :o) I can't wait to use all my goodies and buy some more!

I saw the Prima Say it with Crystals line yesterday at my local scrapbook store and fell even more in love! But oye! They were more than $7 each... soon, soon.

100 Free Prints!!!

I am trying a different online photo processing company, and thought I would share with you. It's Clark ColorLabs. The quality came out great, the colors were nice and the gloss was beautiful. They are even having a sale... if you purchase 400 pre-paid 4x6 prints for $36 they will give you another 80 prints for free!! Plus if you are new to them they will give you another 20 prints. This offer expires on the 21st.

Before Clark I was either printing at home or using YorkPhoto. But between the printer jamming, running out of ink, it printing streaks through my pictures, it not printing at all or having my pictures stick to the inside of my page protectors I was going batty!!! Then even when I sent my photos to York they were printing my digital pics "regular" size thus chopping off important parts of my pictures.

I used to arrange my photos on an 8.5x11 document so I could print as many that could fit on a page, like this...

I like my prints different sizes to make them more usable for scrapbooking. So when I purchase my 4x6 prints I do it like this...

Sometimes depending on what size I want my photo I can fit two on one 4x6, like one 2x4 and one 3x3, now that's frugal! :o)

I thought of using ScrapbookPictures.com again because I have used them before and know that they print in many sizes like 2x2, 3x3, 3.5x5, 4x4 etc. but doing it my way is almost $0.14 cheaper! Plus it can still be any size I want :o)

There are many other places out there like Snapfish, Shutterfly, Winkflash, Kodak, Walmart, Costco... I have used more than half of them, mostly because you get free prints when you first sign-up :o) but I also wanted to make sure I would be happy. I like the ones you can pick-up from the store because I don't have to pay shipping and handling, but I find it convenient that they just show up in my mail especially if I don't have to go to the store the will be at.

Wordless Wednesday

I must say though, the maker of this video said the song was by Weird Al when it is not... the song is by Richard Cheese.

God's Perfect Timing

My husband started a new job today! Yippee!!

I know most of you probably don't know how annoyed we were with his previous job, but we were. Don't get me wrong he liked interacting with the customers and he enjoyed learning more about his trade, but the hours weren't steady, the benefits were trash and well, the company just didn't take good care of him. We had $40 co-pays for doctors appointments on top of receiving bills for 50% of all immunizations, blood work, tests, hospital stays, everything! It has not been fun receiving all those bills with him coming home at 1:30 instead of 5:00 wondering when we would be able to pay.

But as you do know I am pregnant again and will be going to the doctor at least once a month, so naturally I was worried about the bills that would be coming. Well God is so good, so perfect, and (did I mention) so GOOD!

His new job is a $3 an hour raise, it's a steady 40 hours plus some overtime a week, and the benefits are awesome. Even with vision and dental it is less per month what we were paying before. Plus he gets free drinks and a gym membership. They even bought him breakfast! :o)

Thing that makes me go MMMM!

IKEA!!!

Need I say more? My bookshelf (I once tackled) is from Ikea, the scrapbook shelving in my closet is from Ikea, the dressers, nightstands, and lamps in my bedroom are from Ikea, and now THIS....

The new things are the two shelves in the middle and the two bars beneath them with hanging organizers. Of coarse (again) I got this idea from my good friend Andrea, she uses Ikea organizing in her scrapbook studio, it's wonderful!!!
I now have a very handy and reachable basket for my paints that were all hidden in a drawer before... not a good place for them since I use them so often.
I also have a basket for my wooden stamps (Old and new, recognize them?) they were just taking up desk space, but I don't want them hiding away either.

And I have a great spot to put an open album with my latest layout on display. I have always loved to do that, but it always eventually got in the way and I had to move it. Now I won't have to because it's nice and high.

You may also notice (in the first picture) a 12x12 layout with a photo of my daughter on it... that's a sneak peek of the layouts I am doing from the photos I showed you on the 2nd of July. No worries, I will share when I am all finished.

Good talking at you ladies, I hope all is well.
