The Birth Story

So, as you know I had an appointment on Wednesday the 16th, where my doctor didn't like my blood pressure, so she striped my membranes to hopefully move things along.

Later that night I was having some pretty bad contractions and we thought I was in labor, so my husband made a few calls and off we went to the hospital. My contractions stopped as soon as I got there, total bummer! We sat around in the hospital all night with nothing happening and no news on what my doctor wanted to do with me.

We eventually made the decision to start Pitocin since they would have eventually induced me anyway for my blood pressure. Things were fine at the beginning, but as soon as things got as painful as they were the night before I started freaking out and I gave up on the pain.

I made the decision to get an epidural (which I now know I will never do again) and 15 minutes later the anesthesiologist came in ready to poke me... which he ended up doing three times because the first two times he hit bone! (I had one angry husband watching!)

So the pain started going away and the pressure started coming! My little girl was right there ready to be delivered :o) I went from 3 centimeters to 10 in less than an hour!

She was born 5 lbs. 11oz. and 18.5 inches. My smallest baby yet.

God is good to us, we are both healthy and my hubby is home with us all week.

My other two kiddos unfortunately have a cold though, so we are going through a bit of a trial here at home, but again... God is good.

Ok, I think you just convinced me to seriously consider going natural this time around… if possible, of course.

Congratulations!!!!! She is beautiful. I feel for you on the epidural. When I had my daughter I think they did it four times before it took, maybe five-I can’t remember now, of course they had students doing it!!! The dr who did it with my third though did a great job. I can’t imagine having a 5lb baby! but that is because I am gestational diabetic and now type 2. God bless your family and praying your older two get better soon.
God bless,
Sarah

I’m glad your little blessing is home! That epidural sounds miserable. Hope you enjoy this week & the older ones get over their colds quickly!

Congrats! She is a beauty!
Sorry to hear of the epidural troubles. I was always to scared to get one!
